Meetings, targets and deadlines take up almost all of a team's time. That is why more and more companies look for experiences outside the office to bring people closer. In Brotas, Brazil's adventure capital, the ATV tour has become one of the most fun ways to do it.
What team building is
Team building is the name given to activities designed to strengthen relationships among the people on a team. The idea is simple: when the group faces a challenge together, outside its routine, it returns to work knowing colleagues better and trusting each other more.
Why adventure works
- Everyone leaves their comfort zone at the same time. Job titles and hierarchy are left behind on the trail.
- Communication in practice. On the ATV, rider and passenger need to coordinate every curve, climb and muddy stretch.
- Trust. The passenger trusts the rider, and the group looks after whoever is behind.
- Shared memories. The waterfall, the river swim and the photos become a topic of conversation for a long time.
A team day at TRT Brotas
The group arrives at our base, 100 m from Parque dos Saltos, receives the equipment and attends the safety briefing. Then it rides out in a line with the guides along the trails of Brotas, with stops for photos and to see waterfalls or swim in the river, depending on the chosen route.
If the company wants a more complete program, we also organize other activities in town, such as rafting and ziplining, with a single point of contact.
Safety: TRT Brotas has an Adventure Tourism Safety Management System implemented in accordance with ABNT NBR ISO 21101. Up to 2 people per ATV; rider from 18 years old with a category B driver's license; passenger from 7 years old.
Tips for HR planning
- Define the goal: integration, rewards, celebration or leadership development.
- Check who has a category B license: only people aged 18 or over with a category B driver's license can ride. Everyone else goes as a passenger.
- Choose the date in advance: large groups need more ATVs and guides reserved.
- Think about clothing: the tour involves mud and water. Bring clothes that can get dirty and a change for afterwards.
- Share any special needs: participants with disabilities or ASD are assessed case by case. See the page Accessibility.
